Who is Eccentric Trading Company

Founded in MCMLXXXVI Eccentric Trading has a celebrated reputation for hiring fine furniture and furnishings; specialising in bygone styles to satisfy the needs of the film industry.

Located in North London's heart of the UK’s film industry, our stock has been used to dress classical, antique, vintage and contemporary films, television show, commercials, theatre productions, weddings, parties and exhibitions where a theme and authenticity are required.

We are an international company and have exported our props to every continent (apart from that is Antarctica but we remain hopeful, one day....).

A visit to us will provide an antidote for the usual. Weary warehouse wonderers will be treated to both a guarantee of new acquisitions on each visit and provided with an abundance of caffeinated refreshments and almost always Jaffa Cakes


Delivery & Collection

Delivery and collection are made from our Warehouse in Acton.

You will need to let Eccentric Trading know the day you will be collecting the items and the day of returning. This can be done by phone or email as listed below.

Please ensure your vehicle is large enough to pick up your requested items.

Additionally, we can arrange delivery of items to you, this would be done by local courier therefore an additional charge will be arranged and agreed upon request. If delivery is arranged for you, you will require someone to book the items in at your end.

There will need to be someone at your location to accept and sign for stock items. Stock is your responsibility at this stage


How to confirm the date you want the stock

On your mood board quote please call or email to confirm dates required


Hire Period

Standard Hiring period is one week


Hiring costs

The first week of hire is charged at 10% of the hire value, subsequent week charge is 2.5% of hire value

E.g. if the items hire value is £500 the first week’s hires is £50, further weeks costs are £12.50


How to Hire Items

Add items you require to your mood board, once completed send the mood board. Additionally, can follow this up with an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. where I can review for you


Deposit/Booking Fee

10% of total cost to be paid once agreed.


Insurance of items

The moment items are collected from us the insurance is your responsibility. If its damaged by the transport a client has arranged, we will pursue this with the hiring client, and they need to pass the claim to transport. This is because our contact is with the hiring client.


Lost or Damaged

Lost or damaged items are calculated upon return of items.

Damages will be assessed and consider whether it is a write off, cost to repairing it, and the amount it will devalue the item once it has been repaired. Additional consideration is taken for instance for things like if a set of 6 Victorian teacups and saucers with a sugar bowl, milk jug and tea pot come back with the tea pot lid missing, charge would be entire value of the whole set as this wold devalue the whole set


Late Returns

Late returns are billed at the standard rate of 2.5% of the hire value per week


Cancellation Policy

No cancellation charge, unless we have ensured costs. For instance, is we re- upholster or re-polish an item to specification

Payment prior to collection.
